installing debian source

Hi. I am attempting to install the Debian source distribution (2.2r5) with apt-cdrom using the following command line: apt-cdrom add -a. When the Cd is scanned, it finds the label and source indexes. However, a while later the program quits with an error "handler silently failed." Anyone know how to go about installing the source distribution? Thanks in advance!
