Hello.

For all Debian and speakup users, find it here:
http://people.debian.org/~mlang/kernel-patch-speakup_20021221-1_all.deb

Use it like this:


1. dpkg -i the .deb package.

2. untar the linux kernel sources somewwhere, like:
$ cd /usr/src
$ tar jxvf kernel-source-2.4.19.tar.bz2
$ cd kernel-source-2.4.19

3. Now apply the patch, either by hand with

$ /usr/src/kernel-patches/all/apply/speakup

or by using make-kpkg:

$ PATCH_THE_KERNEL=YES make-kpkg --added-patches speakup --config menuconfig kernel_image

Precompiled kernel-image-2.4.19-speakup packages are planned, but I need
some feedback from actual users first.
