ALSA for Tecra 8100

[Ha Ha]

I installed ALSA on Tecra 8100 (noticed some posts here from August). 
Nothing but static.  Using SuSE 8.1.  If anyone solved this problem, can you 
email?
Any patches for the Kernel?  What am I doing wrong?  Please help.
