Off topic: sound file format needed

To elaborate on what Chuck was describing, files ending in dot t r v are 
files used by Telephone Reader systems from the University of Kansan.  The 
files are supposedly sort of wav, but are in fact a format used by 
Dialogic phone cards.  I'm wanting to find out about playing them from the 
console, so I can work with components of our recorded shows right from 
the linux box, so I don't have to use cool edit or sound forge.
