Anne,
Not that I'm advocating the use of html, the cursed Windows-1252, or
anything else non-standard, but, do you have w3 installed? I have w3
and vm. When I'm reading an html message, w3's parser cleans it up,
and puts the result into a "vm presentation" buffer.
