Yes, it says "turned me off", but you haven't really turned him off.
As others have said, try any of the review keys when he's "turned off"
in this way.  You'll be pleasantly surprised.  I've come to like this
"quiet" mode; Sometimes, Speakup can be just too chatty without it.
