nano and pine

Nope, hadn't tried that one. I did a search on wrap and of course the first
option to come up was -r so I was fiddling with that one. Right up until I
got to the point of throwing my arms up and switching to pico. I will surely
give it a try this evening. Thanks.

That is strange. I have not used mutt so of course have not used
nano within mutt. Did you try the "-p" option of nano which makes
it emulate pico?
