problem with new speakup cut and paste

Hi all,

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or maybe this is a serious bug.
I had displayed a short file using cat onto a console.
I moved my speakup cursor to where I wanted to start marking from on the screen, and hit numpad-/ and speakup said mark.
Then I moved my speakup cursor to the end of the text that I wanted to cut, and hit
numpad-/ again. Speakup didn't say a thing, and the system just froze right
there and then.
I couldn't access other consoles, and I couldn't even do the 3 finger solute, I had to go for the reset switch.
This isn't random, because I've done the same exact thing twice.
Does anyone have any ideas, or what am I doing wrong?
