Ok, I'm looking at the removable hard drive option first: You wrote:
d:\linux\loadlin d:\linux\vmlinuz root=/dev/hdb rw
d:\linux\speakup_synth=dectlk_ser=1
This should be:
d:\linux\loadlin d:\linux\vmlinuz root=/dev/hdb1 speakup_synth=dectlk
speakup_ser=1 rw
This is assuming that your Dectalk express is on com2. If is is on com1 you
need speakup_ser=0. It also assumes that you are using the first partition
on your second drive.
