ftp client.

Hi how do I go about using the ftp client on servers that allow an
annonymous login? I've tryed unsuccessfully with both the speakup and
kernel.org ftp sites. each time I connect to either of these sites with
the full path I want to go, I get an unknown host message and when I
connect to the main address, I have to log in or something like that.
How do I sort this one out? sorry to bother you with these trivial
questions.
