Accent problem

Hi all,
I'm having a peculiar problem with speakup and my
accent SA synthesizer.
Occasionally, it will only read part of a line with the 8 key.
Of course, I can read the line word by word with the 6 key,
but sometimes I don't realize until later that something was not spoken.
Is this a known problem;  is it possibly my hardware;
can it be fixed?
