Linux installation

Richard:
The diskdruid doesn't speak as well as most of the rest of the
installation program. But, you found that out already. Essentially, you
need to work smart when you use it. The problem is an old familiar one, if
memory serves me correctly. Namely, the cursor is always routed back to
the top of the page--so you have to be careful that you're actually where
you think you are. Your friend is the dot on the numeric keypad. It will
tell you where your audio cursor is. So, take a bearing after doing any
action via the tab key or after typing in data. Then, you can move around
the screen with the screen review functions of speakup to double check.
Now, how it works ...
It's a grid. The various partitions are in a column at the left. There's
an asterisk to the left of the partition designation. One of the other
colums allows you to check "fill up remaining space" and diskdruid will
just use whatever's left on that disk.
Use your tab key to move left and right from field to field. When you're
in the list of available partitions=--the first column--arrow down to the
partition you want. Again, you may have to plan in advance and just count.
But, you can check before you go further because you can look for the
asterisk.
Personally, I hate this part of the install because it is so important and
so unfriendly to speech. Can you say inaccessible?
