HOW DO I SET UP ETH0

Geoff,

Any suggestions on a 3com pcmcia nic. It works fine under 2.2.17 but as soon
as I compile 2.4.0 or 2.4.1 the nic stops working. Point me in the right
direction?

hmmmm.  looks like part of your message went to /dev/null.  I'm guessing
you mean redhat linux 6.2.  Can you tell us what (if any) networky stuff
you've done so we know where we are?  Does "ifconfig eth0" give anything
that looks like it isn't an error?  If so, what?
