patched speakup

Nope.  This is my second run using checkout.  The first one was done to
obtain the original speakup patch.  Once I had done that I did the 'make
mrproper' 'make oldconfig' 'make dep' 'make bzImage'  This time however I
just ran the checkout script and the files were patched.  So if I'm
understanding you correctly All I have to do is run 'make bzImage', put
the new compiled kernel in / where I have my others, edit lilo to show the
new one and reboot/
