Hi Amanda: You want to get the speak freely software for either Linux
or Windows. The Windows software you can get from www.speakfree.org.
The Linux software you can check out of cvs and compile from:

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous at linux-speakup.org:/usr/src/CVS login
password is 'plese'
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous at linux-speakup.org:/usr/src/CVS co
speak_freely

Watch out for the case of /CVS above. You should then be able to just
cd into the speak_freely directory and type:

make
make install (as root)

Good luck
  Kirk
