suggestions

Anyone have suggestions for getting zipspeak to work? I've gotten some help. but am stuck
I extracted the zip file to c:\ and put the ltlk file  into the linux folder.
I put the linux.bat file in my main c drive.
I'm using a double talk external so not really sure what my problem might be because when I reboot and  try to get it going  I can't get it to talk to me...
not really sure what I'm missing.
