zipspeak mounting /dev/hda2 on /mnt when it's a logical dos drive d:

     Logical drives begin with /dev/hda5 and move from there. Try mounting /dev/hda5 instead. /dev/hda2 under linux means primary partition 2, which you probably don't have, and that's why it won't work.
