Root access (was RE: which prebuilt linux boxes seem to work best?)

My understanding is that another advantage of sudo is that what root
priveldges are granted is controlled on a user basis. Thus you could give
someone with need the ability to change passwords, but not to create or
delete accounts. Or you may need to give special access for backing up.
