Actually, you can have one swap partition per physical disk. The amount
used is a function of how much memory you have with a max of 128MB per
partition. (Meaning that a swap partition larger the 128MB is wasted
space.) By activating the swap on more then one drive, you get a
performance increase. (Actually any disk operation split accross more then
one drive is typically faster.)
