I can't respond to either item directly. I would just say that you should
select a drive that writes at least 8x. Some will say be sure to go scsi,
but it really isn't too tough to get an IDE device to work. SCSI is easier
though and will give better performance. But costs more. Just remember
that as for the speed you will probably have it for awhile.
