sound file converters

There is a program called ecasound which, amongst all kinds of other neat
stuff, can convert between sound formats.  I'm sure that if you added, for
example, trplayer to its list of auxiliary players, it could convert a
realaudio file into a wav.  Doing the reverse illudes me.
