Speakup and ViaVoice.

I also think this software speech stuff is good to think about. I also like
the idea of dev/synth because it would meen less work for developers. Rather
than having each program make drivers, all programs could use a unified
standerd. Another feature to having dev/synth is that programs such as
speakup would be able to switch with no problems.  This idea would also
eliminate the idea of bloating the kernel. Speakup would not have to compile
such software synths as viavoice into the kernel. It would be the users
responsibility to add drivers to the kernel, and speakups responsibilities
are lessened for the better. I am not hinting that speakup developers should
implement this idea, just that the idea should be developed.

I will say that I enjoy having messages from startup, but once my kernel
works, I usualley shut speakup up.
