solution: bns locks up when using speakup

Hi Chris:  Thanx for the report.  See if you can isolate what makes
the bns go into this looping mode.  If we can figure out what causes
it then I can probably fix it.  The problem is figureing out what
causes the problem.  Also, how often does it happen?
